Lipsmatch · Dialogue Replacement
Change the line. Keep the shoot.
The edit is locked. The words don’t have to be.
An offer changes. Legal wants different wording. A claim needs updating, a price is out of date, a product gets renamed. Until now that meant a reshoot, a clumsy cutaway, or a voice patch everyone could hear. Lipsmatch puts the new line on the actor’s lips instead.
Working from the approvals you already hold, we recreate their voice and have it speak the corrected script, with the delivery matched to the scene’s energy. Then we re-animate the mouth to the new words, frame-accurate, and hand back a cut-to-cut master. The camera never moves, the performance never changes, and the fix is invisible on screen. Your film stays on air while the old version would have been in a re-edit.
What a changed line can save
The most common asks we see, all of them handled in post, on the footage you already have.
Seasonal offers and price points change faster than campaigns. Update the spoken line and the film runs another season
When legal or a regulator asks for different wording, the correction goes on the lips, and the scene stays whole
Product renamed, brand refreshed, line extension launched: the talent says the new name like it was always the script
Launch, sale, festival, clearance: one master carries different lines for different weeks of the plan
Their own voice is recreated to speak the new line, performed to the scene, so nothing sounds pasted in, on the approvals you already hold
The frame, the light and the take stay exactly as shot. Only the mouth follows the new words
How a line gets replaced
Days of post, on the delivery files you already have. You approve before anything airs.
From old line to new, in three steps
Send the master and the new line
The aired film plus the corrected script. We help with wording length so the new line sits naturally in the scene.
The new line, in their own voice
Working from the approvals you already hold, we recreate their voice and have it speak the new script. The delivery is matched to the scene’s energy, so the line lands like it was always part of the take.
The mouth follows, you approve
We re-animate the mouth to the new words and return a cut-to-cut master, human-reviewed, ready for QC.
Pairs beautifully with
A changed line is often the first step. The same technology goes further.
Send the scene and the new words.
One scene, the corrected line, and the voice you want it in. We’ll send it back with the mouth matching, so you can judge it on your own footage.
