A Good Day film, before and after Bengali lip sync

Britannia's Good Day films ran in 11 languages, Bengali among them. Tap Original to hear the Bengali dub on the original footage. There, the mouth does not move with the Bengali. Tap Lipsmatch, and the same moment plays with the mouth on every Bengali word.

One Bengali version, 2 countries

A Bengali version can reach viewers in India, in Bangladesh and in Bengali homes abroad.

Bengali is the official language of Bangladesh. Ethnologue's 2026 count puts it 7th among the world's languages. In India, only Hindi has more first-language speakers.

Bengali speakers care deeply about their language. In 1999, UNESCO made 21 February International Mother Language Day, in memory of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. So the Bengali translation of your script must sound natural to them.

What a Bengali translation must settle first

Viewers in Kolkata and Dhaka often use different words for the same thing. We settle these points with you first.

  • India or Bangladesh. Both standards come from the same West-Central dialect. Some everyday words still differ. Salt is nun in the west and lobon in the east. We use the words of your main audience.
  • The word set. Hindu speakers more often use words from Sanskrit. Muslim speakers more often use words from Persian or Arabic. Even water can be jol or pani. For a religious talk, we agree on the word set first.
  • Everyday or formal style. Cholito bhasha is close to speech, and it is the written standard today. Most videos suit it. The older Sadhu bhasha now appears mostly in some official papers.
  • The level of respect. Bengali verbs change for 3 levels: intimate, familiar and formal. We pick the one that fits your speaker.
  • Technical words. A 2026 study looked at machine translation of NPTEL lectures. In Bengali, it swapped familiar English terms for Bengali words 5 or more times per 200 words. We keep a term list with you, so those terms stay.
  • Timing. Your cuts and pauses stay where they are. So we translate each line into Bengali that lasts as long as the original line.

Bengali language pairs we dub

Our aired Bengali films started in English and in Hindi. We also take Bengali videos into other languages.

English to Bengali brings English ads, courses and channels to Bengali viewers. Britannia's Bourbon film took this route. It was shot in English and aired across India in 9 languages, Bengali among them.

Hindi to Bengali takes national campaigns to West Bengal. Britannia's 50-50 Golmaal took this route: 4 films shot in Hindi became 36 broadcast masters, Bengali among them.

Bengali to English takes a Kolkata or Dhaka speaker to viewers everywhere, in a recreated version of their own voice. Bengali to Hindi brings them viewers across India.

Good Day also ran in Assamese and Odia, the neighbours of Bengali in the east.

Quick Bengali lines, on the right lips

The Good Day film above has 2 performers. They trade quick lines in one shot. With a dub alone, neither mouth matches the Bengali.

Lipsmatch fits each mouth to its own Bengali lines, so every joke keeps its timing. The faces, the light and the cut stay as filmed.

If you have a Bengali dub, send it with the video. If not, we translate your script into Bengali and recreate the speaker's voice. Each video comes back as one finished Bengali file, checked by our team. It is ready for a Bengali channel, a TV slot or your website.

Bengali dubbing questions

How do I translate a video to Bengali?

Send us the finished video and say where your viewers live: India, Bangladesh or both. We translate your script into Bengali. Our technology recreates the speaker's own voice to speak it, and we match the mouth to every word. If you already have a Bengali dub, we match the mouth to that. We work only with the approvals you already have for that voice and face.

Can you do English to Bangla video dubbing with lip sync?

Yes. We dub English videos into Bangla in the speaker's own voice, then match the mouth to the Bangla words. Our Bengali version of Britannia's Bourbon film, shot in English, aired across India. If your viewers live in Bangladesh, tell us, and we use their words.

How do I translate a Bengali video to English?

Send us the Bengali video and tell us who will watch it in English. We translate the Bengali script into English and check that the meaning stays the same. Our technology recreates the speaker's own voice in English, and Lipsmatch matches the mouth. You get back a new English file, ready for viewers who speak no Bengali.

Can YouTube auto dub my videos into Bengali?

Yes. YouTube can auto dub English videos into Bengali. It adds a new sound track in a generated voice. Lipsmatch delivers a Bengali video in the speaker's own recreated voice, with the mouth forming every Bengali word. The automatic dub leaves the original mouth on screen, because a sound track cannot change the picture. So the matched Bengali version goes up as a video of its own.

Can you dub Hindi videos into Bengali?

Yes. Britannia's 50-50 Golmaal films were shot in Hindi and aired in Bengali. We take Hindi ads, channels, courses and talks into Bengali in the speaker's own voice, with the mouth matched. We also take Bengali videos into Hindi.

Which Bengali do you use, West Bengal or Bangladesh?

We use the Bengali your viewers speak. Both standards share one base dialect. Some everyday words differ between east and west. Tell us where your viewers live. We agree on the word list with you before we translate.

How much does Bengali dubbing cost?

Send one scene first. We send it back in Bengali, with the mouth matched, at no cost and with no commitment. Your quote then depends on the length of the video and how many people speak in it. It also depends on the service: lip sync to your own Bengali dub, or the full dub with lip sync. For regular Bengali uploads, a monthly plan sets the hours and languages, billed monthly.
